鄧朗淘博士為來自香港的指揮家暨鋼琴家，現常駐美國加州洛杉磯。鄧氏活躍於國際樂壇，常受邀擔任管樂、弦樂及聲樂團體之客席指揮、賽事評審及大師班指導。在與加州鑽石吧高中交響樂團（Diamond Bar High School Symphony Symphony）的合作中，鄧氏於紐約市林肯中心全新翻修的戴維·格芬廳（David Geffen Hall）指揮柏遼茲《幻想交響曲》，贏得樂評界廣泛好評。鄧氏曾師從 Donald Schleicher 及 Andrew Megill，並曾參與由 Uroš Lajovic、Roland Börger、Ines Kaun、Robert Spano、Osmo Vänskä、Larry Rachleff、Joseph Flummerfelt 及 Alois Glaßner 等大師主講之指揮大師班。他近期亦入選羅馬尼亞聲名顯赫的 Dima 合唱指揮大賽，以及義大利 Fennell 管樂指揮大賽之正式參賽者。

鄧氏近期的重要演藝行程，包括於迪士尼音樂廳（Walt Disney Concert Hall）擔任代任指揮及合唱伴奏，協助由 Emmanuelle Haïm 與 Richard Wilberforce 執棒、洛杉磯愛樂樂團（LA Phil）與星辰合奏團（Le Concert d'Astrée）合唱團及樂團之演出。作為一位充滿熱忱的教育家，他現任聖地牙哥大學（University of San Diego）音樂系教員，曾任教於佩珀代因大學（Pepperdine University），並定期於香港主持夏季指揮工作坊。在學術研究方面，他曾受邀於 2019 年牛津指揮學院國際會議、2021 年加州全州音樂教育會議，以及 2023 年世界管樂協會（WASBE）大會發表管樂與管弦樂指揮學術報告。其撰寫之同行評審專著章節亦即將由阿姆斯特丹大學出版社出版。為推動管弦樂團指導領域的學術發展，鄧氏目前兼任加州管弦樂團總監協會（CODA）諮詢委員會委員。

在音樂職務方面，鄧氏現任太平洋帕利塞德長老教會（Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church）音樂總監、加州大學洛杉磯分校（UCLA）合作鋼琴家，並於聖地牙哥交響樂團近期演出之馬勒《第二交響曲》中擔任排練鋼琴伴奏及合唱成員。他亦是洛杉磯 Greenberg-Zukovsky-Tang 三重奏成員，與洛杉磯愛樂樂團及洛杉磯室內樂團之傑出前成員同台合作。作為合唱歌手，他近期曾於祖賓·梅塔（Zubin Mehta）執棒下與洛杉磯愛樂樂團同台，並於拉斐爾·帕亞雷（Rafael Payare）執棒下與聖地牙哥交響樂團及蒙特婁交響樂團合作演出。

Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Pierre Long-Tao Tang, DMA is a conductor-pianist from Hong Kong. Dr. Tang is a sought-after guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician for instrumental and vocal ensembles internationally.  Among his guest appearances with Diamond Bar High School Symphony from California, Tang conducted Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique at the newly renovated David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, New York City with a positive critical review.  Tang studied under the tutelage of Donald Schleicher and Andrew Megill, and participated in conducting masterclasses led by Uroš Lajovic, Roland Börger, Ines Kaun, Robert Spano, Osmo Vänskä, Larry Rachleff, Joseph Flummerfelt, Alois Glaßner, among others.  He was recently accepted as a contestant at the prestigious Dima Choral Conducting Competition in Romania and Fennell Wind Conducting Competition in Italy. 

Dr. Tang’s recent engagements include serving as cover conductor choral rehearsal pianist at Walt Disney Concert Hall for Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra’s performances with Le Concert d'Astrée chorus and orchestra under the directorship of Emmanuelle Haïm and Richard Wilberforce.  As a passionate educator, he serves on faculty at University of San Diego, formerly at Pepperdine University, and teaches summer conducting workshops in Hong Kong.  Select presentations of his research on instrumental conducting studies include the Oxford Conducting Institute International Conference 2019, California All-State Music Education Conference 2021 and World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles 2023. His recent contribution of a peer-reviewed book chapter will be published through Amsterdam University Press. In his contribution to the scholarly field of orchestra directorship, Tang currently serves on the advisory committee of the California Orchestra Directors Association. 

Tang serves as Director of Music at Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church. He is also collaborative pianist at the University of California, Los Angeles, and rehearsal pianist and chorister for San Diego Symphony’s recent production of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony.  He is a member of the Greenberg-Zukovsky-Tang trio in Los Angeles, performing alongside the distinguished former members of the LA Philharmonic and LA Chamber Orchestra.  As a choral singer, he recently sang with Los Angeles Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta, and with San Diego Symphony and Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Rafael Payare.
